Description
The Co-Planning/Co-Teaching service offers districts/schools support in the selection and implementation of co-planning and co-teaching structures. This instructional, standards-based approach ensures meaningful inclusion for all students and is aligned with the Department of Public Instruction’s (DPI’s) Inclusive Learning Community Practice Profile (ILC-PP).
Co-Teaching is generally defined as two or more licensed educators, often a special education teacher and a general education teacher, sharing equal responsibility for planning, delivering, evaluating, instructing, and learning to meet the diverse needs of students in a shared space. The overarching goal of co-teaching is to combine and expand upon the expertise of each professional for the benefit of all students.
CESA 9 has developed an extensive implementation plan for schools and educators to examine their practices and implement instructional change at the school and classroom level. This service is designed with multiple entry points that will be customized to the specific needs of your district/schools.
Our CESA team includes staff trained by Anne Beninghof, an internationally recognized consultant and trainer of co-teaching and content materials aligned with the DPI’s Co-Teaching Learning Modules and Co-Teaching Practice Profile.
