Description
This service will allow a district to design a service contract with a job description and the number of service days to meet their individual needs. Contracts could involve the following potential components:
State Standards Alignment with Curriculum
- With grade level or vertical teacher teams, explore the content, topics, skills, and cognitive demand of the standards (CCSS, NGSS, etc.).
- With grade level or vertical teacher teams, analyze local curriculum for alignment status (CCSS, NGSS, etc.).
- With grade level or vertical teacher teams, develop an action plan for addressing the gaps or overlaps with the standards and the local curriculum.
Development of Curriculum to Address State Standards
- Establish a leadership team with content expertise in the specific subject area.
- Create a template of Units of Instruction and train participants on its features.
- Using the standards and instructional resources, develop units of instruction.
- Support the implementation of units and the review of student work to determine effectiveness in addressing the standards at a proficient level.
Curriculum Materials Adoption
- Establish a leadership team to manage the process of curriculum materials review, pilots, implementation, and training.
- Create criteria by which materials will be judged for determining effectiveness in addressing the state standards (CCSS, NGSS, etc.).
- Coordinate leadership team meetings and materials review.
- Support the implementation and training of adopted materials.
Classroom Assessment
- Provide training on high-quality classroom assessment.
- Develop and facilitate teacher teams for creating high-quality classroom assessment.
- Train and support teacher teams in collaboratively looking at student work and making curriculum and instructional adjustments as needed.
- Support the implementation of an effective RtI system by providing support for high-quality professional development.
