Carl Perkins Grant Management
The Carl D. Perkins Act aims to enhance the quality of career and technical education (CTE) programs at the local level. CESA 9 serves as the fiscal agent, responsible for administering Carl D. Perkins Act funds to participating school districts.
In accordance with grant guidelines, CESA 9 will retain a 5% administrative fee from each district's allocation. This fee supports essential fiscal responsibilities, including:

Fund Management: Overseeing Carl D. Perkins Act funds, including budget development, monitoring, and claim submission as mandated by the Department of Public Instruction (DPI).

Budgetary Oversight: Monitoring district expenditures to ensure timely and compliant spending and reimbursement claims.

Reimbursement Processing: Providing timely reimbursement to districts for approved project expenditures.
Furthermore, CESA 9 will utilize grant funds to support consortium-wide grant management and reporting activities, such as:

Grant Administration: Submitting the grant application and any necessary revisions.

Reporting and Compliance: Preparing and submitting the required year-end report and coordinating the biennial Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA).

Auditing and Oversight: Tracking and following up on all grant-related documentation, including an annual audit to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
