Special Education Director

The Special Education Director provides leadership and consultation pertaining to special education and related topics. Services include:

• Coordination of required special education state reports and federal projects regarding special education programs
• General program services such as due process forms development, DPI monitoring follow-up, local in-services, local appeal assistance, parental complaint investigations, board presentations, assist with open position interviewing, etc.
• Assistance with special education budgets and categorical aid reimbursements
• Disseminate current information on special education law, funding, procedures, and instruction to school personnel through in-services, comprehensive training, and meetings
• Provide assistance in the development and refinement of the district's special education plan
• Provide direct supervision of CESA-employed special education staff and/or assist local administration in the supervision of locally employed special education and staff
