Description
An Early Childhood Special Education Teacher provides appropriate assessment of an early childhood student’s special education needs and then develops and implements an intervention plan to meet those needs. Services include:
- Assessment of 3-5 year old children with suspected disabilities and children currently enrolled in the early childhood special education program.
- Timely and comprehensive written reports based on the assessment.
- Participation in the IEP team process, as assigned.
- Provision of direct services to children placed in the early childhood special education program.
- Completion of local, state, and federal reports as requested.
- Participation in conferences with parents, teachers, and administrative personnel as requested.
- Maintenance/improvement of assessment and instructional skills.
- Effective communication with students, staff, parents, and administration.
- Consistently operate in a professional manner regarding district policies and state/federal rules and regulations.
