Description
A Special Education Teacher provides appropriate assessments of special education needs, then develops and implements an intervention plan to meet those needs. Services include:
- Provision of assessment of children with suspected disabilities and children currently enrolled in the Special Education program.
- Provision of timely and comprehensive written reports based on the assessment.
- Participation, as assigned, on IEP team meetings.
- Provision of direct services to children placed in the special education program.
- Completion of local, state, and federal reports as requested.
- Participation in conferences with parents, teachers, and administrative personnel as needed/requested.
- Maintenance/improvement of appropriate professional impact on students, parents, and other employees.
- Consistently operate in a professional manner regarding district policies and state/federal rules and regulations.
