Description
The Teacher of Orientation and Mobility provides direct instruction, student assessment, individual education plan (IEP) team participation, consultation to staff and parents, and gathers the data for regional low incidence planning. Services include:
- Evaluate students referred for consideration of the need for orientation and mobility services.
- Participate on the IEP team as assigned, including the preparation of timely and appropriate individual IEP team member reports.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the IEP as requested.
- Provide direct orientation and mobility instruction/consultation.
- Provide training (including in-service) as necessary for significant others, i.e., teachers, parents, etc.
- Complete necessary local, state, and CESA forms, i.e., membership forms.
