CESA 9 does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its education programs or activities, and it is required by Title IX not to discriminate in such a manner. The requirement not to discriminate in CESA 9’s education programs and activities extends to employment. Inquiries about the application of Title IX to CESA 9 may be referred to the Title IX Coordinator.
The Director of Special Education and Student services is designated as the “Title IX Coordinator” and authorized by CESA 9 to coordinate its efforts to comply with Title IX and this Policy. The contact information for the Title IX Coordinator is as follows:

Sexual harassment under Title IX means conduct on the basis of sex that satisfies one or more of the following:

An employee of CESA 9 conditioning the provision of an aid, benefit, or service of CESA 9 on another employee’s participation in unwelcome sexual conduct;

Unwelcome conduct that is so severe, pervasive, and objectively offensive that it effectively denies a person equal access to CESA 9’s education program or activity; or
-
Sexual assault, as defined in 20 U.S.C. § 1092(f)(6)(A)(v), dating violence, as defined in 34 U.S.C. § 12291(a)(10), domestic violence, as defined in 34 U.S.C. § 12291(a)(8), or stalking, as defined in 34 U.S.C. § 12291(a)(30).
CESA 9 has policies and procedures in place to deal with incidents and allegations of sexual harassment under Title IX.
Any person who engages in any form of sexual harassment under CESA 9’s policy is subject to disciplinary action, up to and including discharge from employment. Additional consequences may include other adverse or remedial actions within CESA 9's scope of authority and/or referral to law enforcement officials for possible legal action. ( Board policy 3120)
